Chris Blackburne trained at the British School of Osteopathy (BSO), is registered with the General Osteopathic Council (GOSC) and is a member of the Institute of Osteopathy (iO).
An experienced Osteopath, Chris is a specialist in the quality treatment of injuries suffered by professional dancers, athletes and experts in martial arts. Since qualifying from the BSO in 2009, he has helped dancers on their journey back to full fitness.
Previously working with and touring with highly acclaimed Ballet and contemporary dance companies, Chris’ focus is not only on healing injuries, but coaching, counselling and advising on both medical and holistic methods for injury prevention.
From initial Osteopathic examination, through to the pragmatic, tailor-made exercises of post-treatment care, the rebalancing of the muscular-skeletal system is always at the nexus of every treatment, with every care taken to improving the long term outlook for every patient.
Although Chris’ speciality has been treating and consulting professional dancers, he continues to enjoy treating patients from all walks of life. Using a versatile range of techniques: soft tissue massage, joint articulation and spinal adjustments, a whole spectrum of postural pain problems that niggle us in daily life can be fully resolved and relieved.
A fusion of quality medical diagnostics, closely scrutinising and readjusting body mechanics, dovetailed with a holistic methodology improves the psychological outlook, and ultimately the well-being, of every patient Chris treats.
